Cold Laser Therapy (Photobiomodulation)
Cold Laser, also known as Photobiomodulation Therapy (PBMT) uses light to boost the body’s natural healing ability in response to pain, inflammation, swelling and muscular spasm, whilst increasing oxygen levels to sick and injured cells
What is Cold Laser Therapy?
The therapy known as Cold Laser Therapy is also identified by a number of other names. Photobiomodulation Therapy (PBMT), Low level Laser Therapy (LLLT), Laser Light Therapy and Photobiostimulation.
Cold Laser Therapy uses light to boost the body’s natural healing ability in response to pain, inflammation, swelling and muscular spasm whilst increasing oxygen levels to sick and injured cells. Our super pulsed 5000 Hz laser produces no heat, but is so powerful, it has the ability to penetrate up to 13cm into the body.
How does Cold Laser Therapy work?
When Cold Laser Therapy is applied to the skin, light is absorbed by the damaged cells. This in turn triggers a reaction in the mitochondria (the powerhouse of our cells) to produce more energy, stimulating the body’s immune response and increasing blood supply to the damaged cells, increasing tissue repair and reducing inflammation, swelling and pain. It targets the underlying condition or pathology to promote healing, which means the results are effective and long lasting.

There are actually no known side effects of Cold Laser Therapy. It is a non-invasive, fast acting, effective and drug free treatment method.
Although there are no known side effects of Cold Laser Therapy, if the condition being treated is a chronic one, some individuals may experience a slight increase in their level of discomfort. This is however, a short term response that soon settles and is due to the increase in blood supply to the affected area and is in fact a sign that healing is taking place.
How many sessions will I need?
You may notice an improvement following your very first Cold Laser treatment. In as few as 4-6 treatments, you will benefit from improved blood circulation, less inflammation and cell revitalisation, enabling the body to start healing, thus effectively treating the underlying cause of the pain, rather than just treating the symptoms. Cold Laser Therapy also has the benefits of having a cumulative effect with each treatment building on the previous one.
Do you have scientific research to prove that Cold Laser Therapy works?
